toodles!
Ironically enough the sun did grace us with its presence on the last day of our holiday. My sis told me the following day that the temperature rose with at least 20 degrees the minute we left the country. We were bummed out 'cause we missed out on the london fields picnic in broadway market. But what got our spirits up this particular day was the unforgettable haunted house of Dennis Severe (www.dennissevershouse.co.uk). My dear friend jojo had been there a couple of weeks earlier to visit an old work colleague who's employed there now. She recommended the place as a "must see". I and my man are very much into the occult and I thought I'd surprise him by going there! After that we had a monday burgers for 5 quid at the belgian place beside the Dinner in Shoreditch. Afterwards we hugged my sis goodbye and headed to Heathrow airport with heavy steps, didn't want to leave, with the sun shining and all... I'll come down again this summer and the hot sun better be there then!
East is East
Sis and sötnos made a tasty sunday breakfast before we went down to Columbia road flower market and it was crowded despite of the shitty weather. But oh so cozy. Wanted to buy all the flowers there! Just before the rain started to pour down we went for lunch at a tapas restaurant in Brick Lane, and ate to the sound of salsa! My feet couldn't hold still! Afterwards my man saw a massage stand on the square and we left him there for 15 minutes. Boy was he gone after that! We ended the evening with dinner on a vietnamese restaurant on old street. You could bring your OWN wine, and did we ever! They didn't have a liquor license and the staff was confused when taking orders, but oh I really loved that place and food was to die for!!

Top of the morning to you laddie!
The last time my sis and her sötnos were in Sweden they crashed on our couch for a whole week. It was great having them over and in the mornings we used to make pancake breakfasts! We did the same now at their place, delicious pancakes with loads of maple sirup. This day we went to the picturesque Broadway Market just near by their flat in east london. It was still freezing outside. So ironic when it was 23 degrees in Stockholm and only 6 degrees in London! We stopped by Hackney city farm on the way to Broadway Market and made friends with gilbert the goose and bella the sow. She was happy taking a muddy nap! Later we headed to soho for some nice fish'n'chips and some book shopping at Atlantis and Waterstone's. For dinner we went to the belgium place The Dove on Broadway Market for moules frites and strawberry beers and vedett, yummy!

Rock the boat
My sister isn't missing much from her native country but what she always wants me to bring her is "kalles kaviar" a typical swedish caviar paste for mostly crispbread. Sötnosen wanted loads of licorice candy and we brought the works but we also did "help" them eat it all...
I was keen on seeing The Horace Walpole exhibition on V&A museum it ended with us taking the WHOLE tour around the building! Massive! Later on we went to HMV and found out that the release date for the 2nd season of True Blood was on Monday the following week, so we definitely went back for it days later. Later on the evening we went for pints on the hilarious karaoke pub "the birdcage". The best performance came from a middle aged man with a broad jamaican accent who sang "rock the boat" and to top the awesome dance we soon realised that he also was stone tone deaf, it was brilliant!

England is mine and it owes me a living!
I moved with my sister to dirty ol' london in the summer of 2001.
We arrived one day before Aaliyah died in a tragic plane crash and two days before the Strokes had an album release at our favorite indie club Trash. It was mixed feelings the first couple of days, but with a feverish Notting Hill carnival that first weekend we soon caught on to the rhythm and pace of the city. I moved back to stockholm eventually but my dear sister stayed behind. She is very happy there and I visit her whenever I can afford it...
When I was checking-in this thursday British Airways asked me if I wanted to be a volunteer.. Translation: "We have over boked your flight, wait for the next flight that leaves 3 hours after yours and receive a 250 euro check! Sure! Well, unfortunately I boarded my ordinary flight, due to leftover seats, but as a reward for my cooperation I got to fly... BUSINESS CLASS!
A seat that could fit an elephant, loads of drinks, warm food ON A plate, gourmet cheese, more free alcohol... aaah life's good when even the airplane loo is fancy!
My sister cooks the best food, she got her skills from our dad. When I got to hers and her sötnos flat I was pampered with a delicious croque monsieur and sötnos made a brilliant pimm's. I was freezing so she let me borrow her cardigan. My man came with a later flight that was a tad delayed so we had to wait for him at liverpool street station. When he finally arrived we went to the mouthwatering Tas Firis for a kebab and other greasy food. With bags of take away and wine we headed home to inflate the giant mattresses, we we're about to pass out inflating those bastards, but they really saved the nights.. we slept like babies!
